Nowadays, looking for a job in the transport sector is quite easy because many companies require accredited drivers to transport their merchandise from factories to distribution centers. By accredited drivers we meant drivers who hold a commercial driver's license (CDL) and have had enough experience on the road. Usually companies require job applicants with at least 2 or 3 years of previous experience.
You can find thousands of job offers on the internet and newspaper ads. In addition, it is recommended to take a look at trucking companies' website, because most of these businesses publish available posts. On the other hand, employment agencies have knowledge about any openings for driving jobs; you should visit some of them. |
What to do in a Job Interview
- Wear business attire and arrive ten minutes earlier.
- Respond with clear and straight answers.
- Highlight all your skills related to the driving job.
- Modulate your voice and be careful with your body language.
- Demonstrate interest in the trucking/driving company that you are applying for.
- Carry some photocopies of your resume with you.
- Thank the interviewer for his time and submit a thank you letter to the person in charge of the recruitment process.
